"The West is dead. You may lose a sweetheart but you won't forget her." -Charles M. Russell

The West is Dead is the collaboration of two friends who met while working in the woods of northern Montana. Concerned for the dying tradition of American craftsmanship we started a small clothing line all handmade in the USA. Each garment is designed and built with emphasis on functional construction, subtle styling and an obsession with using only the finest quality raw materials.  This is our story.

We put this video together from footage dating back to when we first started our company. Included are shots from West Glacier, Montana and various locations around California where we make all of our clothes. The last portion of the video shows us making a vintage-style patch using our Cornely model "A" manual chain stitch embroidery machine. The machine is around 100 years old and must be operated freehand with no way to "erase" your mistakes.  It served as the inspiration for our logo and the embroidery on the inside waistband of our jeans; one of the many details adding to the story behind each of our garments.

Thanks to our customers we're able to support some incredible organizations and people fighting to protect the things which we hold dear. Learn more about our partners HERE or take a look at our BLOG to see what's new with us.
